'Sarcophilous Films' is the brainchild of British-born-and-bred friends Clive Hawkins and Wayne Maginn. A dream of both for many years was made reality when the opportunity arose for them to release the much neglected and unfairly uber-obscure double-bill INVITATION TO HELL and THE LAST NIGHT, directed by the equally obscure and neglected Brit-Film talent, Michael J. Murphy.

After discussing the possibility of releasing the double-bill, the Portsmouth-based filmmaker jumped at the chance to finally make a little money back on films that had been illegally released several times over the decades with zero returns for the director. Initially unkeen about THE LAST NIGHT being part of the DVD due to production issues with the film that yielded inferior results in some aspects of the project, the enthusiasm of the 'Sarcophilous' teamsters encouraged the director to see fit to give his blessing to the original double-bill being given the DVD treatment!

And so 'Sarcophilous Films' was born! Dedicated to releasing the neglected gems of cult cinema, 'Sarcophilous Films' will endeavour to use its meager means to access obscure, rare, neglected, unchampioned and even long-considered 'lost' films and source the best materials and extras possible for Special Edition DVD releases.

Make no bones about it...'Sarcophilous Films' is a budget DVD operation...and proud of that fact! Unlike other budget labels around the world though that ignore copyright and international laws to release bootlegs under the guise of 'official DVDs' to make quick and easy money, 'Sarcophilous Films''s meager resources will be ploughed into acquiring rights, securing the best source materials available to us, creating extras and, where possible, encouraging those involved with the films to become a part of the release.
